For our Valentine's Day Theme Weekly Home Preschool we went pretty heavy on the crafts and snacks, and a little light on the official learning activities. Sometimes you just need to make a lot of stuff and snacks, right? No worries, though. The girls were still doing plenty of learning!

Picture Books
We read so many sweet Valentine's Day books! Our favorite was Snowy Valentine, and you can read about all the others in my picture book review post.
Fun with Paper Straws
The girls got some good fine motor work with these two paper straw crafts. Our ExSTRAW Special Valentine is almost like an optical illusion, right? And they've both been wearing their Paper Valentine Necklaces almost every day!
Music
You'll love this cute rhyme and circle game from Let's Play Music. It's called Will You Be My Valentine.
Valentine's Day Snacks
We may have gone a little overboard with the snacks. Take your pick!
Bead Sorting
Here's a quick and easy activity to work on both math and fine motor skills. Sort some beads (and then you can make necklaces).
Science
Fun-A-Day put together a great Candy Heart Experiment. I love how Mary Catherine introduced this to her students, and some of their predictions about what would happen are great! My kiddos would love this-- we've just got to make it out to the store for some hearts!
Gross Motor
This Valentine Hop and Pop from Coffee Cups and Crayons is SO cute, and a great way to burn off some of that winter time energy! I've never met a kid who didn't LOVE playing with bubble wrap!
Valentine Bears
This little bear craft was designed to go along with the Eve Bunting and Jan Brett book The Valentine Bears, and was part of great Read & Play series with other bloggers. Read all about it!
