20 Gifts for Active Kids. Got a preschooler or kindergartner who likes to move? These toys are lots of fun, and are great for gross motor development as well!

My kids are always on the go.  It's a rare moment when they're both sitting still, so we've invested in some GREAT toys to help harness some of that energy!  Any of these choices would make an awesome gift for an active child, and the super sercret bonus is that they'll all help your child develop gross motor skills!

If you're looking for other great gift list ideas for preschoolers or kindergartners, you can find over 15 shopping and buying guides for boys and girls, age 3-6 here at Reviews & List of The Best...

Teeter Popper- In our house, this little rocker is known as the "basker" because Maggie likes to bask in it.   It's very sturdy, and has these amazing little suction poppers on the underside so that if you rock in it on tile or wood floors they make a great little popping sound.   The girls also use it in their imaginative play- it's been a boat, a hospital bed, a turtle shell, and loads more!

Sit 'N Spin- Is there anything greater than a Sit 'N Spin?!  No.  I don't think there is.

Gonge TOP - This giant spinning top may have a hefty price tag, but it looks like it would be SO amazing!  It even has little guards to protect your child's fingers from getting smashed as they spin and roll around!

Gymnastics Bar - My husband and I often wonder what our lives would be like without this gymnastics bar.  Our girls spend hours on it!  Lena does gymnastics, so we originally got it for her to practice her skills on.  She does practice on it, but mostly the girls just climb. all. over. it!  They hang and swing, flip upside down, sit and balance on the top of it, and push and pull the bar while they stand sometimes to watch television.  It's a fantastic outlet for the fidgets, and they're also building fantastic arm, shoulder, and core muscles!

Gymnastics Mat - If you've got a bar, you've got to have a mat!  Even without a bar, a mat is a great place for kids to flip and tumble.  They fold up to store neatly when not in use!

Hula Hoops  - You can't go wrong with this classic toy!  These come in great sizes, are nice and sturdy, and make that awesome sound as the little beads inside roll around.

Jump Rope - It takes loads of coordination to jump rope!  You've got to spin the rope just the right amount, at the right speed AND plan your jump to make it over the rope.  Then you've got to do it again and again!  Your preschooler probably can't jump rope, but your kindergartener should give it a go.  We love this natural jump rope, made with a thick cotton rope that won't hurt too much if it smacks against little shins.

Anna Banana Jump Rope Rhymes - If you're going to learn to jump rope, you've got to learn some jump rope rhymes!  This book has over 100, including all the classics that you may have learned as a child.

Micro Mini Deluxe Scooter - I had a lot of trouble paying this much for a scooter, but it is totally worth the price, in my opinion.  I couldn't believe how smoothly the Micro Mini Scooter rolls!  It's also great because the child steers by leaning, rather than by turning the handle bar.  This helps alot with balance once a child learns how to ride a bicycle!

R2D2 Helmet - Make sure to have a helmet if your child is riding a scooter (even if you're just on the driveway).  How cool is this R2D2 version?!

Ready Set Stilts - These stilts would be great for helping kids with balance and core strength.  They're not as tricky as regular stilts, since they have an extra set of T-shaped feet to help as kids are learning.

Plasma Car - Plasma cars are TONS of fun!  They're fantastic for kids who haven't mastered pedaling, since your child just wiggles back and forth to make the car move.  They're also really hard to tip over, and low to the ground so if you keep them on a flat surface they're super safe (though you should make sure your kid is wearing a helmet, anyway).

Mini Trampoline - Got a bouncer?  Our mini trampoline is one of the most-used toys in our home.  They don't take up much space, especially if you get a version like this one that can fold up when not in use (although we've never put ours away in over 2 years).

Foam Pogo Jumper - These foam pogo jumpers are so much fun.  They're almost like a real pogo stick, except it's all made out of foam and much easier for your child to jump on.  It also makes a great squeaky sound when you jump!

Moon Shoes - I remember seeing moon shoes in toy catalogs when I was little, and I wanted them more than anything in the world!  Tiny trampolines attached directly to your feet- how awesome is that?!

Horse Hopper - This little bouncy horse is (by far) the toy-of-choice when we visit our friends to play.  I think it's easier to manage than a traditional hopper ball, and there's also the added element of imaginative play that comes along with it being a pony.

Hopper Ball  - A hopper ball is a classic kids' toy!  Let your kids bounce to their hearts' content.  I prefer that my kids bounce outside on the grass, where they won't accidentally bonk a furniture corner.

Inflatable Castle Bouncer  - Did you know that they made small, indoor sized bouncy castles?  I didn't either, until we visited some friends with one.  It fits surprisingly well in a playroom, and brings the joy of a birthday party bounce house directly to you!

Monkey Balance Board - A balance board is a great toy for preschoolers or kindergartners.  This sweet monkey version will have your kid rocking and rolling!

Bilibo - I had my eye on a Bilibo for a long time before we decided to purchase a teeter popper instead.  The Bilibo is essentially a big round bowl that encourages your child to play.  They can sit in it and rock, flip it over and stand or balance on it, put it over top like a turtle shell, and lots more.  Looks like fun to me!

Having a few active toys around the house and in your back yard can really help kids to burn some energy, stay fit and healthy, and sleep better at night!  Make sure you've got enough!
