We interrupt your regularly scheduled craft and preschool posts to bring you this adorable Braided Ballerina Dress. If sewing is not your thang, then scroll along!
(Forgive my shadowy pictures- my model was quite grumpy during her photo shoot.)
The only alteration I made to the tutorial was to add a bit of lace along the bodice and bottom hem.
I absolutely love the effect of the braid along the top neckline, and the (not as hard as it looks) weaving on the back. It is a great detail and I love the texture that it adds..
Since I couldn't find mice buttons (which would have been Maggie's first choice), I used these sweet pink kitties instead. Still super cute!
The dress fits and wears beautifully. It is dainty and girly like my Maggie, but she's been wearing it like a play dress since it is made of a very playable 100% cotton.
