This quick and easy Valentine Bead Sort is simple to set up and is great for your toddler's or preschooler's fine motor skills! Don't you just love all the colors of Valentine's Day? I know it's certainly one of my daughters' favorite holidays! In addition, your preschooler will get some excellent math practice- sorting is an important skill for early math. Here's how to set it up!

You'll also need little heart containers. Ours were from the Dollar Tree, but I've also seen similar things at Target and many craft stores. While they add a nice touch, they're not necessary and you could easily let your kids sort into other containers.
Set up a tray for your child with a bowl of beads and your containers.
Let your child sort! Depending on their age, they can sort by color, or size. And if you're working with an obsessive detail oriented child, they can sort by color AND size, with one container for each and every kind of bead that you have!
